Baby Ski Lessons here we come!

Whew! You know you love your kid when you make the decision to sign said kid up for swim lessons, knowing, without a doubt, you will have to fit your pasty white thighs into your pre-baby swimsuit.

Do I also need to mention shaving? I thought the purpose of winter was to be a complete and utter slacker when it comes to shaving my legs. Including the bonus that Jason works nights and I don't have to worry that he will run away in the middle of the night screaming that something horrifically razor like sharp, has tried to chew his legs off. He's home 2 nights a week.. and that's when I shave. Lazy. I know. Do I feel bad? Nope.

First swim lesson looming,I sucked it up and I shaved. Afterwards, realizing, yikes, I'm gonna be in a swimsuit.. I'd better make sure that nasty spot behind my knees that absolutely refuses to co-operate and be shaved is thoroughly and completely shaved. Three attempts later, half a bottle of shaving cream and I've won the battle. I hope. I've thought I've won before and realized, after leaving the house of course, that all my contorting and twisting of my body was to no avail. Knees won. Lets cross our fingers and hope that's not the case this time!

Do you mind if I whine a bit more? I mean seriously. Shaving aside, not a big deal. The major deal though is hmm... how do I say this? It's winter so.. no sunlight.. no time for a tanning bed.. this means.. no TAN!!! Yowsers. Ok, not that bad right? I've got the stems shaved.. it's just that.. well, I have an olive skin tone and it does not do well without some sort of color to flatter it. In fact.. my legs are a wee bit green when they don't get sunlight. It's kinda scary. I know, I know... Suck it up Ang.. We've got swim lessons right?!

On the plus side(there's always one of these!), my legs are so darn shiny from their recent shave, that the combination of them, my very white thighs and the black pre baby swimsuit... anyone looking my way should be blinded! If that alone doesn’t get them, I figured I’d just run and dive into the pool, baby and all, and no one will notice my thighs while they were trying to figure out what the crazy woman with a baby was doing. Good plan right?

Ok, Angie drama aside, I gotta say, Julia is having a blast! Our first lesson was on the 2nd and she did really well! It took her a bit to find her groove but after she scoped everything out and got comfortable she took it all in stride! We did some nursery rhyme games to help her get used to floating on her back and then her tummy. I was so proud when her little chunky monkey thighs started kicking! We got to a point where she was having so much fun her little legs were going as fast as they could and she was squealing as loud as her little throat could be! Big, big happy smiles!

That following weekend we took it easy and picked up the house and started on my Valentine’s Day gift for Jason. Nothing like cleaning up and then making everything messy again with craft supplies!

On Monday the 8th, Dad had his knee operated on so I spent the day helping him out and then took Tuesday off and spent that with him also. Thankfully, he was getting around quite a bit on his own so he didn’t need a whole lot of help. I say thankfully as I really really needed a nap. 2 hours of sleep the Sunday before his surgery and then maybe 6 that Monday night did not bode well for a good happy Mommy!

We had our second swim lesson Tuesday the 9th and she again had a blast! I was worried she would clam up and become intimidated by all the splashing from the toddler group next to us but not so!

The rest of the week was spent between work and working on Jason’s Valentines’ Day gift. Since the day has passed I am able to share what it was! I made a love story for him! I had a small scrapbook and all the supplies needed and I really wanted to make something for him. So. I put two and two together, raided all of my photo albums from the beginning and worked my way forward. It was a very long and tedious project and I now know I should have given myself a month for it! It turned out ok and he seemed to like it so it worked out well! Here's a few photos of some of the pages I did. Enjoy! Love you all! Ang
