Week 15.. will the sickness ever end?

Ugh, we have been struck by the sick bug enough!!! I'm done... I wish anyway. Last Thursday, I got sick again. Same flu like symptoms as the week before, minus the vomiting. Even though I was feverish and achey I was still able to feed Julia and we had a doozy of a feeding session that day.

As we lay on the bed this horrific odor started creeping up to my nose. Then.. she grunted.. grunted again and the tightest sounding toot came from her bottom... I thought the odor was bad before but this was the Mack Daddy of all toots! I decided to interrupt our feeding session as the odor was so horrific, I could not get away from it. I tried breathing through the pillow, my shirt, craning my neck the opposite direction. Nothing worked. Here I thought that was the worst of it, the odor..Not so.

The diaper did not contain that small tiny, toot and the silent ones that had come before it. Not one bit. As I picked up her little body, I immediately noticed this GIANT pool of pooh on our bed. I look down and more pooh is slowly sliding down her leg. I look at her, and she's got the biggest smile on her face. Of course. Adorable even in the stinkiest of times.

I yell for Jason to help. He, being indisposed at the moment, yells back, just a minute! JUST A MINUTE? I have pooh running down Julia's legs and I'm trying not to pass out, let it drop onto the rugs or the floor and myself! EWWWWWWWWW!!!!! There are no seconds, let alone minutes to spare honey!!!

I get her on the changing table, where it, the pad, the blanket on the pad and Julia's flailing limbs, are all covered instantly in, you guessed it, pooh. I'm thinking, I'm never going to get her clean! She's trying to pull her feet up, I'm trying to keep them down since they are covered with the smelly stuff. Her hands are then flailing to the messy diaper area where the explosion began, I'm trying to prevent that too. I'm wiping everything else but where I need to be wiping to resolve the mess but she's so darn wiggly IT'S EVERYWHERE!

Jason enters the room, takes one look at her and begins laughing. I tell him to go check out the bed. He does and then I hear this ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!! That's yours to clean my dear husband. I've got the kid. Love you! Many hugs and kisses! Teamwork you know!!

In the end, Baby is clean. Sheets are ruined. Mattress pad is ruined. Mattress is safe though, thanks to the absorbancy of the mattpress pad and sheets. Baby heads off to daycare. Mom goes to sleep to ease her aching body and Dad goes to bed to rest for work. Pretty exciting day for staying home sick from work.. don't you think?
