They are an awesome sight to see but truth be told.. a little scary. They're a wee bit mesmerizing so if you're not careful as you're driving, you may find yourself allowing your eyes to linger too long admiring them as you pass. At times, I had to ignore them completely because I so desperately wanted to see how far back the farms went- they seemed to go on as far as the eye could see!
That said, Jules did great the ride up. The whole time we were talking about my friend Melissa and her daughter Hannah and what we were going to be doing with them that weekend.
Melissa and I were going to have some fantastic catch ups and Hannah wonderfully offered to make cookies with Jules.
Somehow in these conversations.. Jules interpreted Melissa's name into many, many different versions of Melissa.
The favorite and best? Elizabeth.
Melissa.. Elizabeth.. uh.. maybe it's just the multiple syllables?
I think the next runner up was Linda.
There were a good 3-4 more but I'm sorry to say.. the hilarity of Elizabeth outshone them all. We worked at saying her name MEL-ISS-A over and over and over.. and she said it just great.. it's just when she tried to remember Mel's name.. it stubbornly came out Elizabeth.
A little humor never hurt anyone and Mel was more than happy to get a chuckle out of it (thank you Mel!).
That said.. here's a few photos from our trip.. again.. Angie + Camera = not so focused picts.
This is 'Elizabeth' and although this photo may have you thinking 'Huh?' it has a whole backstory that makes me chuckle every time I see this picture of her. So, even though she'll probably bean me upside the head next time we see each other for posting this picture.. I'm a rebel and post I did.
Love you Mel!
This is the best picture ever of Hannah, Jules and Alli making cookies.
Too bad the camera decided to be a rebel itself at that exact moment and put a kibitz on my focus.
Aye me, will we ever get along?
Hannah being so patient and helping to explain to Jules how the blender works!
Both girls were so patient and wonderful with Jules!
Kuddos to their Mama's for raising such wonderful young ladies!
Blend, Blend, Blend!
Although Jules didn't get to do it on her own, she got to help Hannah hold it!
The best part of making cookies..
the taste test!
Cheese!
It was too short but such a sweet time!
Love and miss you sweetie!
