Sesame Street Live 2012

Grandpa Jack and Grandma D treated us to Sesame Street Live again this year. We had fantastic seats just one row from the stage so we were very up close and in the thick of it!

She warmed up fairly quickly and began interacting with the show within the first 10-15 minutes. She danced, she sang, she shouted 'Hey guys, hey guys, say cheese guys' while trying to take their pictures!

She ate cotton candy as fast as Grandpa could give it to her (to be honest.. if i had to describe her animalistic actions in reference to the cotton candy? Pirahanna. Yes it was that bad). All in all, it was the most spectacular show to date just in the joy of seeing how much she lit up watching it.

The lights went down, Bert and Ernie came running onto the stage and her attention was caught...

Bert and Ernie began searching for the letter of the day... Oh boy, oh boy! What... Will... It... Be?

There it is! There it is Julia! J, J's the letter of the day!!!!
J for Julia! Yeah!

The monsters rushed the stage and we were all mesmerized!

I took a lot of blurry pictures.. A lot. I blame it on the fact that I had a dancing toddler on my lap.. that's the story and I'm sticking to it... none of the blame is my own ineptitude with the camera settings.. nope. Not at all. :)

Grover. Oh, furry, lovable Grover.

Yes his picture is blurry and yes, most would refrain from posting such a blurry picture but..

Do you see what he's holding?

Any guesses as to what it is?

No, it's not an ice cream cone..

It's a COWBELL!

I saw that and instantaneously heard Christopher Walken in my head shouting 'WE NEED MORE COWBELL!'

Yes, I went there... WE NEED MORE COWBELL!

Baby girl. I love the look of awe on her face here.

Dorothy! Hello Dorothy!

Dancing Monsters! Look out! They're about to zoom by you!

ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

Telly and Abby grooving along with their instruments!

The Rockin Robins.. I'll be honest.. these guys kind of came out of left field.. and they were a bit creepy with the sunglasses... just sayin'...

Abbie and Oscar.. Oh how I adore Oscar. I think he won me over years ago with his buddy Slimey.

It may have actually been due to Oscars little friend that I would in turn make friends with the worms we'd get on fishing trips as a kid. Near broke my heart when those guys would be taken from my pile to be used as bait.

Think I'm going to go have a bit of a pity party now. I miss those guys. True story. Sniff, sniff...

Hello Oscar. I know, I know.. you're a grouch.. I still think you're kinda cute though.. :)

I'm posting this picture for two reasons.. 1) Does anyone know this monsters name? I think it's Griselda but.. without actually walking my fingers over to Google to verify it.. which I really don't feel like doing right now.. I have no idea if I've got her name right.. hmm..

Reason two? Do you see the blue monster in the background.. this is a family friendly blog but.. still.. when I glanced at the picture I thought for a minute 'he' was taking a potty break.. then I realized.. silly me.. hello! It's not like there was a)time to do that and b) ah.. Ang? That's a girl monster..

Sheesh.. my mind sometimes...

Getting close to the end... things are starting to wind down and the show is in full dance mode!

Finally! A close up of the number of the day! I bet you thought I was going to forget to mention that.. Ha! Fooled you didn't I?

Last number of the show! Everyone has their instruments and a music they are a making! Streamers were bursting from the ceilings, and somehow landing in my childs pants! Don't believe me? Look below:

This one somehow got stuck in her pants.. so securely she had a blue tail...

Well, what did you think? Despite the near crippling snow storm we made it to the show and we had a wonderful time! This is the first year Jules actually got down from my lap, stood in the isle and danced, sat on me and danced, stood on me and danced.. danced and sang and danced.

In case you didn't catch the tone here.. we had fun.

Hope your days are going well!

Love, Ang
