Julia's 1st Birthday Party.. take 2!

Julie turns 1...again! Yep, that's right! My baby is officially 1 and.. we finally had a party to celebrate it!

I may not of had the time to get all the decorations done.. I tend to have a habit of bigger dreams than manageable time to work with so.. I got most of them done, just not all!

The week of Happy Birthday Julie take 2.. we had her 1 year check up and had the news that.. well.. our baby is TINY!!!! So tiny in fact that she is in the 3 percentile of her age group. Yep. That means out of 100 girls born on the same day as she, 97 of them would be taller than her. T-I-N-Y. Our pediatrician spoke of a few concerns for her height as she'd also lost a pound and well, just isn't growing. We are going to wait till her next check up before beginning the litany of tests he wants to perform but for now.. we're praying our baby grows!

The week leading up to her make up party flew by. I had to work everyday but Wednesday so time was short on preperation and with her being sick the week before, not a lot was achieved between the two. All's well though. We still had a blast and no one noticed that I didn't get the giant Martha Stewart puff balls made!

Saturday rolled around and.. guess what? Julia and Daddy had to make an emergency Dr's visit because.. you guessed it! Things were not right again! They made it back to the house just as her party guests had begun arriving. It's cool to be late to your own party right?

She had a blast! Daddy had made her cupcakes the weekend before so I tried to recreat his owl cup cakes again.. They're a little frightening but pretty cute too!

Julia had her first taste of a real honest to goodness birthday cake and mashed it fantastically well. I can only imagine what was going through her head as she would grab a handful of cake, squish it in her hands, look at it, grab more, squish more.. and then eat it. To be honest, I wanted to dive in there with her and grab handfuls of cake myself and squish them and squish them and squish them! Did I just digress to being a kid there?

We did a minor clean up after that, changed into her birthday dress.. yes, I know. Birthday dress you ask? Yep. I had found it a few months before, fell in love with it and away we went! Cute right?

What about the presents you ask? Baby girl was spoiled with loads of fun fantastic toys. She got bubbles, bath toys, a pool, bouncy balls big and small, musical instruments, jack in the boxes and the gifts go on. Everyone was so generous and was so patient while I tried to talk her into opening up her gifts.. unfortunately she was more about observing everyone else observing her!

*These are the balls Grandma and Grandpa Jack gave her. I filled a baby pool up and loaded it with the gazillion balls that came in the bag and she loves diving in and playing in her own ball pen!

*Julia and Aunt Lakey opening presents

*Uncle Biens is going to get you Baby Girl! You'd better start running!!!

*Making music!

*Julia with her Uncles Biens and Kameron!!

That's about sums it up. She had a blast playing with everyone! Her Grandpas played peek a boo, her Daddy played peek a boo and I'm gonna get you.. her Aunts played and made funny faces at her.. Nana's and Grandmas spoiled her while making her birthday cake. I wish once again, I was able to put the moment on hold and just savor it. Even though she's small she is so amazingly big. Sniff sniff.

Love you all,
ang
