Onward we go..the birthday countdown is on!

Birthday excitement and flu aside.. hello. how ya doin? Thought I'd just, you know. Say hi. Chat a bit. Brag a bit. You know, chew the fat.. whatever that means because really? Chew the fat? Eeeewwwwww.

Anyway, our girl is a dynamo! She is into everything and she moves so amazingly fast! A few weeks back I went out and bought her a walker/stroller that helps her with walking. Does she walk? No. She runs! The kid does not know slow at all! It is zoom and away she goes!

I love it! We were able to catch a video of her running down the hallway with her stroller, Jason's taunting her with 'I'm gonna get you' and she's looking over her shoulder with her Granny pink nightgown on going 'eahhhhh' eeeeaaaahhhh!' 'eeeeaaaAAAAAHHHHHHHhhhhh' while pushing her dolly in her stroller as fast as her chunky monkies can carry her! God bless this baby of mine!!!

We've just a few more days before the big day and I've got a lot on my plate but.. a few days off hopefully will take care of that.. as long as this sinus thing pestering me goes away I think we'll be ok!!

For now, I'll recap my first Mother's Day! Loved it! We road tripped up to the Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha along with Jack and Diane, meeting up with Mom Ben and Lakey at the entrance. Once inside.. we had an immediate stop for our first photo op or rather, what Julia will more than likely deem, humiliation stop once she reaches her teens..

We were able to visit the Rainforest and experience it's humid weather and exotic animals. We saw a bird that was unafraid of humans being within a foot of it.. so close I chose to ignore my cautious nature and got Julia and I fairly close to get a shot of his beautiful eyes!

After the rainforest we moved on to the giraffe's and we loved the beauty and grace of them. They on the other hand.. weren't so impressed with us! I don't blame them though. Who would be impressed with someone gawking at you while you chew your grass and laughing at your 'roommate' trying to reach a leaf so high in the tree even their tongue could not reach them!

We toured past the elephants, the rhinos, more birds, bronze elephant statues.. the petting zoo.. Julia tasted some ice cream from her Grandma Diane's ice cream cone and we marvelled over the beauty of a male peacock displaying his feathers.

Speaking of bronzed animals.. we of course had to take a photo of Julia riding each one.. the best though was placing her inside the bronzed hippo's mouth!

She ate some more of Uncle Ben's ice cream to the tune of 'MMMMMMMMMM' 'MMM' 'MMMMMMM MMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMM'. Telling you, this kid is a hoot!

We then took a ride on the train...she was pretty tired at this point as she had not had a nap at all that day! Poor baby...

...We went through the butterfly exhibit where a beautiful giant one landed on the underside of Julia's arm which she promptly tried to squash.. thankfully it survived and flew away!

Finally, we landed in the Aquarium exhibit where the fish float overhead. I don't mean goldfish either. We're talking small sharks, sea turtles, the big shiny guys from Nemo that I'm going blank on that point Dori in the right direction.. goodness feel silly that I cannot for the life of me remember their name! No good photos of that though, just lost of video. I did capture some beautiful ones of the jellyfish exhibit so hopefully that suffices!

Mom and I. Our first shared Mother's Day. Beautiful.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. There's a lot of them I know but not nearly as many as I would have like to share. Hope all is well, take care and all my love!

Angie
