Weeks 25 and 26

Wow time really flies by doesn't it? Hope you don't mind but I have a few more photos to share from Halloween. I had forgotten about them until I uploaded some other photos and since I thought they are so cute, I wanted to share them before catching up on our activies!

Julia with Nana playing with her tutu!

I had to post this one, the 'hair' and Daddy's smirk!

Jake, trying to escape his prison and eat the bountious food set out on the table.. only to get stuck by his ever increasing waistline between the baby gate and the floors!!!

Julia going, Oh G*d, Oh G*d, will the pictures ever stop! PLEASE STOP the MADNESS!!!!

Ok, all goofiness aside! We have been pretty busy visiting, being visited, raking miles upon miles of gloriously messy leaves. You know, just happily living life to it's fullest!

Our first adventure was up to Fremont to celebrate my brother's birthday. Ben had the good fortune to be turning 35 on the 11th this year! Lucky Biens!! Mom and Lakey joined us on the trip and we had a good time going out to eat, checking out Uncle Biens' Koi pond, his beautiful landscaping, the 5 cats, Clover the Dwarf bunny and Tidwell the exotic bird! Julia was so fascinated with Tidwell! Tidwell on the other hand did a lot of squawking and I'm not so sure it was as loving of a squawk as were her squeals of delight!

That Saturday, while Juila and I recovered from our respective chest colds, ear aches and sinus issues, we visited Dad and Kameron for a few hours. This let us get out of the house a bit without really putting too much strain on her poor ear. Plus,I had Dad check out a cool drawer I picked up at a yard sale a few years ago that I kept thinking I'd someday figure out, exactly how, to put it's coolness to good use. Well, I figured it out, but lack the skills necessary to do it. So, Grandpa, being the builder he is, will turn my cool drawer into a little table for Miss. Julia's delight! I'm so excited to see the results and to be able to tell her one day that her Grandpa made it for her! She's so fortunate to have such creative Grandparents!

The following Monday, we went in for her six month pictures! Six months already!!! We thought it was going to be a terrible shoot though. She was so unbelievably unhappy that day. We tucked her into her pretty yellow dress Daddy bought her this summer and loaded her up in the Pilot. About halfway there, she fell asleep. Thank goodness for small miracles! She slept all the way until she was lifted out of her carrier. Chris, our photographer, was great! She got Julia smiling so much! The catnap she had, the fun photographer and cute outfits! We are so excited for the photos and dreading them at the same time! Not sure we'll be able to choose from all the great shots she caught!

Thursday, I raked and raked and raked the front yard. Ben dropped by to help a bit, thank the good lord for that! My hands hurt so much by the end of the day! Three yard totes and 13 bags later.. the front yard is raked, it just needs to be mowed now!

On Friday, we made it down to the farm to visit Grandma and Grandpa! Finally right?! Julia got to play with Lucy, the friendly dog, who made her giggle! I never get the kid to giggle and there she was, sitting on Grandpa's lap. Giggling. I loved it! Jack and Diane had told me she had done that with their dogs too, but hearing about it and seeing it, SOOO adorable!!!

Grandma also sent us home with plenty of goodies for Miss. Julia! One of the outfits is purple. Grandma lives in Kansas and the very next day was the big K-state vs. NE game. I was talking about having Julia wear the outfit the next day and Grandma just smiled. It wasn't until I went to put the outfit on that I realized... HEY! Grandma almost had me tricked to put our little Husker girl in K-State colors on game day!!! YIKES!!! So, off it went on Saturday but we did get it on her on Sunday. What do you think?

On Saturday:

I raked the back yard, got another 3 totes and 11 bags filled. Went to mow and guess what? The rururur rururur effect took hold again. Ugh. I realize now, the mower needs to be charged like last time but I was so tired I didn't care. I just left it. Mower 2 Angie 0.

Julia spent the day with her Grandma and Grandpa Jack. Here she is giving sloppy kisses to Grandpa!

Jason went to the NE VS. K-State game with Dad, Ben and Kameron. A guys night out kinda thing. Kameron, bless his heart, wanted ice cream. ICE CREAM in 40 degree weather at 8pm! Can you believe it! Only my baby brother right?

That about brings us up to date my friends! I hope you enjoyed the pictures. There were so many to choose from, I had a hard time weeding them out. Can ya tell?!

Take care,
Love ang
