On Tuesday, we took my younger brother, Kameron, to the Dr's office so he could get get a cortisone shot in his back. Julia and I had to sit outside though since she decided she didn't wish to be inside. So, being outside, we had the opportunity to witness the comedy of a parking lot accident gone awry and the poor policeman trying to document it. I say trying, for each party was trying to cajole him with their versions of what happened and neither was willing to take responsibility. Very comedic and I was very happy it wasn't us in that situation!
On Friday, Jason and I were able to spend the day together. He had taken the weekend off to go fishing with the guys, which ended up falling through with the big football game on Saturday. That's ok, their loss is my gain! We went out for lunch and then headed out to do some bargain shopping at area garage sales. We had a blast and found some great deals! We stumbled onto one that had baby clothes and we picked up some pants for this fall/winter season. Score! She's at an awkward stage right now. She's just grown out of her 0-3 month onsies and into her 3-6 months but her bottoms range all over the board. Jason found a cute pair of jeans for 3-6 months that fit her, I had gotten a pair of 6 month pants but they are snug and the 9 month size.. well, they are long but fit her ok. I got desperate for some pants with room to grow and picked up an 18 month pair that were on clearance just to see how they would fit. You'd think they'd be huge right? Wrong, just a wee bit loose in her waist. Crazy right? Go figure.
Oh well. To top off our fun week, Julia and I went on another road trip this last Saturday. This time, Lakey was our trip buddy as we drove back to Hastings to spend the day with Mom. We got a chance to show Julia off to her friends Julie and Mary. Julie had a little gift of the cutest and might I say, softest little piggy pillow ever!! She also had given Juila a cute little pair of socks that look like she's wearing little Mary Janes with big giant flowers on them!
When we left Julie's we trekked on out to Glenwood to visit the Pumpkin Patch which.. advertised on-line to be open on the 19th but.. when we arrived, we were told they didn't open until the following Satuday! Bum-mer. So, off to Sutten we went to check out the little Pumpkin shop that Mom had heard about and driven by a few times. We were able to get some fun Halloween accents and a few adorable photos of Julia surrounded by pumpkins! I can't wait to get the photos from Mom's camera to post them!
That about sums it up. We had another rough night on Sunday and her 2nd tooth has popped through on her bottom gums. We had a worry that she was allergic to tylenol but realized later, the swollen lip we thought she had was just a trick of the light. Still, the only thing that really soothes her right now is taking a bath. There is something about water this girl loves. I'm double checking with her pediatrician at our appointment next Monday for her 4 month shots if at 12 months, it's ok to start her on swimming lessons. I'd like to get her started as soon as we can since she loves water so much. I know it's not a surefire way to keeping her safe but it's a start right?
That's about right up to the minute for our updates! Hope you enjoyed them!
Angie
Welcome teeth! Julia, I know they're uncomfortable while they're poking through but you will have so much fun with them when all is said and done!
ReplyDeleteAs for swimming lessons, it should be just fine to start her as early as 6 months. I think 12 months would be great for her!
I agree with Hil, I think you can start at 6 months...depending on the place. Great idea! We're limitd on who gives lessons out here, but I'd like them both start asap.
ReplyDeleteTeeth are just the next step, I totally understand the feeling though, makes me sad and happy all at the same time when Bella does something new...after Wyatt I know each step forward, is a step away from being a baby. :( But then they learn to hug and kiss, and say "I love you momma" and there's nothing better. At those times, I don't miss the baby phase at all!
