Week 9

Wow. The thoughts that run through your head when your sweet angel lets go of her bowels during her bath. I could not of imagined my mind ever going that lightning fast in my life. It was fantastically amazing and honestly, quite horrifying, all at once.

There we were, enjoying her evening bath. We were done with the basics, face, hair, body washing etc. and she was just splashing around, enjoying said bath when...brriiipppppp...and the water instantly became a muddy pool. Ewwww, ewww, ewwww.

So, after the first paralyzed second of 'OH MY FRANKENSTEIN' thoughts, I quickly hoisted her out of her tub, turned on the sink faucet, which thankfully has a spray nozel that pulls out, and hosed her down...mind you, she's completely oblivious as to why she's being yanked from her splashing and not too happy about it either. The whole time my mind is racing with thoughts of "Oh my Frankenstein...did it get into any crevices we REALLY don't want pooh going?, OH MY FRANKENSTEIN... did I get it on me?...Oh my ewwwwwwwwwwww.

I am able to laugh about it now. During...my mind was racing way too fast to even comprehend laughter. Whew. Fun parenting episode 101. Glad we got that one done and out of the way...maybe next time my mind will be able to handle it better!

We had her 1 month check up last Monday. I was way more prepared for her shots this time. It didn't hurt that Jason was able to make it to this one and help soothe her when we were done.

We also have a new vehicle. Yippee! Jason and I started our search a while ago. Lots of options and lots of money to be spent. Unfortunately, also lots of things said to you that aren't really true when push comes to shove when dealing with one of the car salesmen we dealt with.

Thankfully though, Jason found a vehicle, dealt with an ok salesman and we now have one big purchase out of the way. He was pretty cute when he did it too. We had walked onto a lot so that he could test drive a Honda Accord. When the salesman came out to help us and had his back turned to us, Jason looked at me and said, 'I'm getting that' and pointed to a Honda Pilot. He proceeded to go through the motions of looking at Accords before meandering back to the Pilot. Worked some magic with the salesman and viola. We now have a beautiful new car!

Now...to just replace mine. Hopefully, when we resume the search, the Ugly Angie that appeared during this last search, will not raise her nasty head again. Thankfully, my husband still loves me. She was really really ugly.

Last but not least, we went out to dinner a week ago last Sunday to celebrate Sarah's 30th...ha ha, 29th birthday. We met at Las Margaritas and had some yummy Mexican food. I even remembered to snap a shot of Julia with Aunt Sarah and Grandpa Jack!

We learned Aunt Sarah and Julia's honorary Uncle Matt..Sarah's significant other, were getting ready to go on a fantastic beach getaway this week. I am so excited to see their pictures! They have a friend that teaches scuba diving and so, while vacationing, they are going to scuba..soak up some sun and play in the sand. What could be better right?

I must not forget to mention either...Nana's birthday was the 25th. She turned....well, maybe I shouldn't give it away. Ladies like to have some secrets you know! She was able to make a trip up to visit us last weekend and we went to the farmers market to get some fresh veggies to freeze for winter. Yummy! Except I just realized, we failed to get a photo op with Nana during her visit. Hmmm..I will have to rectify that this coming weekend when Nana is up to celebrate her, Lakey's and my birthdays.

I'd also like to say, I love you to my baby sister, Lakey. Her Grandpa, Melvin Koepke, passed away and his funeral was last Thursday. He was a very kind man and I know she will truly miss his presence. Love you baby girl!

Take care and have a good week!

Love, Ang

  1. what a beautiful post. Someone told me that I wasn't officially a parent until my first bathroom fiasco. So, welcome to the "official parenthood"!
