Whew! What a difference a week makes! Remember all those nasty pokes Julia received that I was venting about? Well, with one of them they tested to see if she was milk/dairy/lactose tolerant. They found she is at the high end of normal so our pediatrician suggested knocking out obvious forms of dairy from my diet to try and see if this would resolve some issues she's been having: lots of gas, fussiness after nursing, wakefulness(she hardly sleeps at all), explosive diaper movements, constant need to nurse, a bright red rash around her mouth when eating, etc. So, I went online to learn some more about this subject and found...she doesn't really match any of the symptoms of lactose intolerance at all, but, she does match every single symptom of lactose overload. So off to Milkworks we went(it's a non profit organization that helps out nursing moms..fantastic resource!) and met with a wonderful lactation consultant who helped me figure out how to resolve the issue. Each day since the prognosis, we have seen such a remarkable improvement in her behavior, diaper movements and her poor mouth has nearly cleared up completely. No more Rudolph lips anymore! Hip hip hooray to Julia's health!
Then, this weekend, she had a slew of faces to look at and study! Her Nana was back in town for the day so they got to chill while Mommy. Daddy, Grandpa, Uncle Ben and Uncle Kameron came over to help put a pathway in on the north side of the house. I honestly can't say I did much other than run around with my head detached but other than that, the guys have done a fantastic job and it looks like if they hadn't of run out of sand, may have gotten the whole thing done in one day! Talk about teamwork!
Then, that night, I ventured out to a movie with my friend Heather and Julia's Grandma and Grandpa Jack stayed with her. Bless them! She was crying quite a bit before I left but they seem to have eardrums made of steel for they both were still smiling when I walked out the door!!!
Finally...I whacked off all of my hair this last Monday! I wanted to do it before she was born but Jason and my beautician wisely talked me out of it. Something about giving birth, lots of pictures and not wanting to hate my hair forever if I didn't like it. No worries though, I love it! I haven't had a lot of opportunity to play with it yet but even when it dries on it's own, I've got enough of a wavy curl that it kinda looks good anyway! How lucky is that?
That's all for now..I figure your eyes need a break anyway from reading so much!! Take care and I wish you the best week ever!!
Love,
Ang
P.S. This last picture is my favorite this week! I'd put her to bed with a binkie in her mouth, socks on her feet and her little T. When I checked on her later that night...the socks were strewn across the bed and the binkie nowhere near her mouth and she was turned onto her side, sideways!!!
