Week 23

Wow! What a week right? New president, new hope and new beginnings! Jason and I were able to watch together the inauguration of both the President and Vice President. Neither of us was able to remember watching one all the way through in the past. Just bits and pieces caught here and there, embarrassing to admit but true!

So, on the note of big changes, I thought it would be kind of fun to share with you the rapid growth of Baby Runge. Jason has been taking shots of my ever increasing girth since month 4 but we were lucky to get a few shots in the beginning. Admittedly, my waist was never that small to start with, but now in the 6th month…it’s definitely showing some growth!

Our first photo is from my friend, Heathers’, wedding. Unbeknownst to us, Baby Runge was into his/her 2nd week of existence! We were clueless!! It wasn’t until about 2 weeks later that we took ‘the test’ and had to relearn how to breathe!!

Next up we have the magical 4th month. Baby is popping a tad bit by now and in our 16th week, I felt Baby’s’ first movement! Just two little taps on my lower abdomen. Of course, after the initial excitement, I didn’t feel anything again until week 18 when the butterfly effect took residence in my belly.

At 5 months, Baby is growing a bit more and definitely moving. The anticipation of feeling movement and waiting until Jason would be able to feel it was almost too much to bear! I wanted to share everything with him but I needed to be patient (my so not strongest virtue!) and just hold on to my britches. His day was soon to come!

Finally, up to date we are in month 6. Baby is definitely showing now and so, unfortunately, are my hindquarters!! Baby is up to approximately 10 inches long and weighing in at about a pound. I held a ruler up to my belly the other day to show Jason how large we were talking; Baby is easily able to go from hip bone to hip bone at full stretch! We’ve gone through a few ‘silent’ periods where Baby does not move, which of course, makes my heart stop and my mind to go wild with worries. So far though, just when I’m about to give in and call the Dr., Baby breaks out in a fantastic tap dance and makes my world happy and worry free again!

Hopefully you got a chuckle out of the photos! Have a fantastic week and take care!

Love,
Angie
