Week 22

Another week has passed us by and Baby Runge grows stronger each day. It's amazing how powerful those little limbs bang against my insides. We started out with just a few butterfly kicks that felt more like being tickled from the inside out. Now, as Baby grows stronger, it's more like someone keeps running into a wall..that happens to be made of my insides! I love it though! When Baby wakes me up at 5:30 in the morning with a 'hello to the world' tap dance, I have to smile. Each kick tells me that our Baby is growing. One of these days..hopefully soon, Jason's going to get to feel these kicks too! I am so looking forward to seeing the expression on his face that day!

We did have a bit of excitement this week and had to go to the Dr's office to get tested for Gestational Diabetes. We're a few weeks early for that test but I'd had a few episodes where I got a 'wee' bit dizzy. Good news though, no Gestational Diabetes.. I did get a nice scolding for not completing my medicine for my inner ear infection though, which, silly me, was causing the additional dizzy spells.

Jason also announced this week that he knows, without a doubt, what sex our baby is going to be. I think he's full of it but..we'll see. During our ultrasound he thought he'd seen boy parts. When we were at the Dr's office this week though, another couple was telling someone over the phone how the Dr determined it was a girl. That got Jason to thinking. So, when we came home, he got on the net right away to research boy/girl ultrasounds at 21 weeks and viola! He's predicting we are having a....???? I don't know! Since I don't want to know the sex, we agreed he'd write it down on a piece of paper, stick it in an envelope and tape the dickens out of it so my curiosity doesn't get the better of me and then tacked it to the front of the refrigerator! About 18 weeks to go and our curiosity will be sated!

Since we don't have any fresh photos of baby and I'm holding off publishing any photos of baby and I until we get our 6 month shot...here's a cute snapshot of Jake, our fantabulous boy kitty that just loves to dress up(can we say meowwwww)!! He's sporting a bib Mom got Baby Runge for Christmas. Jason thought..hmmm..how may I torture Jake today? Mom handed over the perfect torture device while unwrapping presents. Good thing Jake is a Daddy's boy. Jason can get away with just about anything with him!!

Take care and love you all!

  1. love torturing the cat with the bib! How exciting that you're feeling the baby kick, isn't it wonderful?! Jason will be brought to tears the first time he feels it. I'm so excited for you both!
