Jules and I headed out on a road trip for our second day of exploration. Since it was less than an hour away, we headed for Chimney Rock.
Of all the things I expected to see... the one I wasn't expecting, with both of us in sandals, was the 'BEWARE OF RATTLESNAKES' signs. Yep. Snakes. Rattlers. CH-CH-CH-CH-CH-CH-CH-CH makers. Yikes!
So, even though I had brought tennis shoes for both of us, we played it safe and I carried Jules while she kept her eyes peeled for snakes. ~~~~
Jules and I getting our picture taken in front of the monument. She really wasn't that interested in it.. to be honest.. I would have been more excited to be climbing up and around it myself.. just sayin..
While there, she was able to play with the Wagon Train set up they have in the museum for kiddos. She was all about pouring me some tea!

These are the goods she loaded up to head out west! She's setting up our dinner plates in front! I think her supplies included: flour, rice, water, whiskey, a rollig pin, 4 tin plates, a tin coffee cup and some tin canisters, a picnic blanket and a box of clothing goods!
After leaving Chinmey Rock we drove and visited Scotts Bluff. I wasn't comfortable driving to the top of the bluff by myself with Jules in the car. Too easy for me to get distracted if she got upset or if I got clausterphobic in the tunnels. Maybe next time..
So.. we went to Scotts Bluff Riverside Zoo.
We saw a Bobcat.. who was pacing..
A Peacock who was stalking...
Jules played in the sandbox. They did have a nice little play area for kids where in the summertime there was a small waterpark next to the sandbox and slides.
Then we got to come home to this! The best part of the day by far!
