We did it! Jules and I hopped in the car and drove the 6 hour trip to Allaince to spend a few days with Jason. Oh, did I say 6 hour trip? HaHa.. if only, try 7.5 hours. I had rigged up a 'potty station' on the backseat floor with her frog potty chair and it seemed to be the highlight of our trip for her since we had to stop nearly every 45 minutes for a 'break'. Frog got a lot of love that day. ;)
Anyway... we made it safely thanks to our Guardian Angels and Mother Nature's generosity. There was some pretty nasty weather all around us with Tornado warnings/watches, fog(we hit a lot of this) and rain storms with quarter and golf ball sized hail. But, we seemed to be encased in this precious safety bubble that I was and still am, so thankful for.
By the time we reached town I was exhausted and in the zone, my Mapquest directions were a little wonky.. ok, ok they were right on target for instructions but the street with a sharp right kind of disappeared amongst the intersection just a short skip away from it and I totally missed it.
So, Jason offered to meet up with us on main street where we ended up during the confusion, ah-hem, my confusion. To pass the time, Jules and I got out of the car to stretch our legs and began walking down the block. We had just turned around and were heading back towards our car when I noticed him getting out of his truck.
I whispered in her ear to 'Look, there's Daddy'!
She turned to look so quickly and with no hesitation upon seeing him screamed "DADDY" as loudly as she could! She let go of my hand and took off running as fast as her little legs could move and ran straight into his arms. It was a moment that still brings tears to my eyes it was so amazingly precious.
So, my thanks to the Heavens for a safe journey and my thanks to everything I may give them to, to bring such a beautiful moment into our lives.
Love, Ang
