Christmastime!

Merry Christmas!
I know, I know. I'm way behind here. I didn't even get out Christmas cards. The first time in.. maybe the last 12 years or so? I had them planned.. attempted many different times to get the shot of Jules that I wanted.. and failed miserably. Finally I gave up. Maybe next year? In the meantime.. here's a cute shot of Santa's little Elf!

We kept ourselves busy, go figure right?!.

Mom, Lakey and I made our annual cookie making get together attempts. I got sick. Really, really sick. Cancel cookie making attempt #1. So, after much hoo'ing and ha'ing, we rescheduled for attempt #2.. Mother Nature anyone? We can do it Mom says! Bring on attempt #3.. and then the electricity in Lakey's apartment goes out.. this being the hub of where to make cookies. Why did it go out you ask? The electrician that was there 2 weeks prior failed to hook up some of the wires in the breaker box correctly and out went the lights when Lakey turned on her 1,000+ lights decorated tree.. (that last part about the tree was just my smarty pants idea, the rest is true though!).

Pretty smart right? :)

The next day Mom, Jules and I headed up to Fremont to deliver some of our 'wondrous' cookies to Ben.

While there Julia had the delight of re-introducing herself to Tidwell the bird, Carter, Berkley and Nadia.. 3 of his 5 cats.. That's Carter in Ben's arms.. kinda exploding out of his arms truth be told! He's so big Ben has nicknamed him Double XL.. and between you and me? I think he and Jules weigh about the same.. he might even have a pound or two on her! Yikes!

Kidding aside, he's just a great big ball of love!

On the way out to Fremont to visit Ben, Mom and I noticed a giant tractor. Not so original in Nebraska right? Well, this happened to be a not so ordinary tractor. Take a look.

It's made out of hay bales! We didn't get close enough to see if it was decorated with holiday lights but we had grand ideas how sparkly it would be lit up at night. Rolling tires from the twinkly white lights, green lights decorating the cab..

I know, I know.. the obvious question would be.. Where do you plug in the lights.. : )

We also noticed this cool abandoned shack/ house with an adorable sign saying Merry Christmas!

I'm giving you the the long distance shot here.. this way you can get the full affect!

As spooky as it looks, it was really, really cute! In the window there are little elves working on toys while the Carolers were outside serenading them!

Thankfully the roads were empty... Mom and I were like two tourists in our camera snap happy giddiness!

Lets see.. Somewhere around the 19th Jules bailed hard core. I was just finishing my shower and she came running into the bathroom, tripped and fell face first onto the side of the tub and bit through her bottom lip.

Yep. Through her lip.

If you have the stomach for it you can see in the first photo, the outside wound had scabbed over pretty quickly. The inside wound though.. uhm.. I know I'm not supposed to say this but.. ewwwwww. Ugh. Eww. My stomach does somersaults when I see that photo. See the white spot next to Jason's finger? Ugh.

When it happened and I saw the blood I just.. my heart stopped and I wanted to cry and breath and scream for Jason and hold my little girl and comfort her so much. Thankfully Jason had just laid down so my hysterics did not reach a frightening level. Just a bit panicky.

Off to the Dr's office we went. No stitches needed. Just popsicles and lots of TLC. Whew. Mama was scared!

Now. Finally. Christmas. I'm going to break this up into 2 possibly 3 segments. Otherwise you're going to fall asleep on me!

Christmas Eve. Here's Baby girl in her new Christmas Jammies.

Christmas Day and here's a snapshot of my Hubbs! I gave him a box of lights for Christmas.. haha.. I kid, I kid!

  1. At first I thought Julia was putting Elmo in the potty. Then you said it was a booster seat. Too funny!
