I've become a wee bit enamored with Craigslist lately.
It started when I was looking for toys to put in the backyard for Jules. In that search I had found a good deal on a kitchen set that we've put aside for Santa to bring.. followed up by a cheap cheap cheap swing.. a fabulous jungle gym that came with an additional slide and a cute turtle sandbox. All this for less than 50 smackeroos! Score right?
Well... it would have been a score if I had stopped looking.. but no... what's a girl to do with time on her hands and zero patience drooling over Pottery Barn catalogues yet again???
She checks out Craigslist. Finds a toy box for the toy room she's creating for her wee one.. a beautiful Pier One coffee table.. scavenges furniture off of curbs to be refinished.. my poor patient hubby. I have projects up the wazoo and am running out of time and space to do them. It's a good thing we don't use our garage because it's become my workshop.
On top of it all? Thursday night I got restless.. I really needed to clean the basement before both Mom's came up this weekend while Jason was away with his Dad to the championship game in Dallas.
What do I do when I get restless?
Start a new project of course!
So, I rearranged the furniture downstairs as I cleaned! I moved the entertainment center from one wall to another(TV equipment included!), moved the elliptical machine from the North end of the basement to the South end and the treadmill facing South to facing West. The couch got moved around, hutch pieces moved here and there, a rug from storage brought out.. and then I... moved the couch, moved the rug.. then the couch moved again, treadmill moved, couch, treadmill, rug, couch, treadmill, treadmill, couch.. threw my hands up in the air and shouted hooray when everything ended up symmetrical and even.. because if you know me any bit whatsoever.. you know the above repetitive moving of couch, rug and treadmill.. that wasn't a joke. I have issues... in the weirdest way man. Weirdest ways. Thank the Good Lord my hubby loves me.
So.. since all that work went into place, I had somewhere to stick my newly aforementioned Craigslist purchased coffee table- that Jason was suspicious about but I hadn't come clean on yet. Yep, I hid it in the garage for 17 hours before admitting to it's existence. I can't hide anything from him... believe me I've tried.. guilt gets me everytime!
Now it has a home and I like our basement set up! To be honest, we were both at our wits end on it. I liked the way I had previously arranged it and Jason liked the way he had arranged it but neither of us were fond of the others choice so.. hopefully the compromise I've got going on makes him as happy as it does me!
Now.. on to finishing my painting touch ups in the guest room, hanging the artwork on the walls, continue stripping the 2 tables I've got going on in the garage and working on Jules toy room.. did I mention the memory book I'm working on also? I don't even scrapbook. Go figure.
Happy 5th Birthday Quinn
