This is from a few weeks ago when we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa for Grandpa's birthday.
Julia and I were looking for something to play with and we stumbled or rather, pilfered, this hat off of the dresser.
I thought it was one of Grandpas Sunday hats and would be fun to do a little dress up with. When we went to show Grandpa how much fun she was having with his hat, we found out that she was actually playing with her Great Great Grandfather Joseph's hat...
..and it meant so much more to know that she was playing with an item that was once part of her Great Great Grandfather's daily life. Funny that a hat can bring those feelings to you.
What's even better is, I was able to catch a photo of Grandpa trying it on. Pretty Dapper at 86 don't ya think?
