Week 2 of Beautiful Julia's life

We have survived week 2 and almost week 3! She seems to like us and we LOVE her! How could you look at this mug and not? Ok, I know the 12am parties she likes to throw that last for hours, would be happily thrown out the window for more rest but..considering the alternative..not having her..I figure I'll treasure them! Right now Jason and I have a routine. He's spoiling the dickens out of me really. I wake up, feed little Miss. Julia, converse a little bit and then he takes over so I may rest for the next feeding that he, depending on how long she's kept him up for, may rest through or read us a book. We love the book readings! Next week though, he's returning to work. It shall be interesting to see how the little one and I get along without his help since he works overnights. I'm sure we'll be ok but it will be another adjustment to get used too.

We've gone out and purchased a small swing and a bouncer to see if she likes either. So far, she's not liking the swing if the violent howls coming out of her mouth are any indication. The bouncer we have to exchange before we can test it out since it came defective. Mom is really really hoping she either grows to adore the swing or enjoys the vibration of the bouncer for those late night adventures she likes to throw. This would make it easier to entertain her with a book myself and give my arms a break after feeding.

We haven't done many outings with her yet. We do go strolling every other day to get some fresh air and get out of the house. Lately though, the weather is getting warmer and with Julia's body t-stat going into overdrive once confined in anything, we may have to reconsider when we take them.

A few little personality traits we've learned from her so far are..she really really loves her Daddy. I thought I'd at least get the first year due to feedings and such but no. That little set of lungs are more than happy to turn out some particularly pitiful howls if she wants her Daddy and he is not immediately there to rescue her from Mommy's arms. That's ok though. Watching them together more than makes up for it! Besides..when she's ready to shop.. she'll know where to go! Mommy to the rescue then!

She's also a little tigress when it comes to food. Whatever you do, don't get in the way of her and her grub. Bad things pour out of that sweet adorable mouth. For example, check out this photo of Daddy withholding her from Mommy before lunchtime. Not a happy camper! Daddy likes to call this his 'So you want to be a parent' photo shot. Funny, work her up and then hand her over to Mom with fire in her eyes before latching on for din din! Yowsers!

That's about it for now. My little one is grunting herself awake as I type this last line. I'll try to get back into the habit of once weekly updates and a few quicker ones if we can sneak them in there every once in a while!

Take care and have a great week!

Love,
Angie
